In the world of competitive cycling, surprises are par for the course, but nothing prepared us for the seismic shift we witnessed between our recorded meeting number one and the exhilarating unfolding of meeting number two. We always knew Ben had the potential to deliver an impressive performance on the unforgiving slopes of Ventoux, but plans are plans, and our expectations were rooted in the insights shared prior to the stage. So, when Ben zipped past me in the lead with just under a kilometer to go, I felt a surge of adrenaline and sprinted the grueling 600 meters up the moonlike surface toward the finish line. I must apologize to the photographer I may have inadvertently jostled in my haste! Despite the outcome, what a remarkable day it was, showcasing an incredible tour by Ben and the entire supporting cast.
